Sushiswap

SushiSwap is a decentralized exchange built on the that was primarily created to facilitate swapping ERC20 tokens on its platform. Decentralized exchanges allow users to directly trade with each other without third-party interference. Binance and Coinbase are centralized exchanges that require users to create and verify accounts before they can trade on the platform. Users do not have to go through these cumbersome processes when it comes to trading on a DEX. If you have a compatible wallet, you’re good to trade on DEXes without revealing your

History of SushiSwap:

SushiSwap was created by two unknown developers, known by their Twitter handles 0xMaki and Chef NomiSushiSwap was forked from Uniswap which means it was created from the code used in Uniswap. In layman terms, it was a copy-paste job with few changes. To attract users to the platform, SushiSwap came up with the idea of Vampire Mining.

Marketplace to Launch this Week. Meet Shoyu.
The SushiSwap NFT marketplace is finally here. News about the launch first began to circulate late summer this year, but details have been thin on the ground. Now we can reveal some specifics following a recent Shōyu presentation in New York.

SushiSwap NFT marketplace
With a range of tasty options, marketplace looks primed for success
Simply put, Shōyu (Japanese for soy sauce, English for ‘show you’), aims to shake up the NFT market by offering a robust, aesthetically stunning platform to help emerging artists and creators enter the non-fungible space. So far, so heard-it-all-before, a quick look at the specifics shows the team responsible means serious business.

Firstly, Shōyu doesn’t require any Ether to mint or sell tokens. The result is a substantial reduction in how much it costs to produce, distribute, and profit from NFTs. Platform fees, meanwhile, are capped at just 2.5%, meaning 97.5% of revenue goes back to the creators. Even more collectively-minded, those transaction fees go straight to xSushi holders. xSushi is paid to anyone who stakes SUSHI tokens.

How About that SushiSwap Marketplace Presentation?
While the information above began circulating a few months back, the recent SushiSwap NFT marketplace presentation has provided more talking points. For starters, Shōyu will offer multiple gallery types to show work. This includes spaces within the platform’s own metaverse. Meanwhile, interactive slideshows and simple — data cost-friendly — 2D templates are also available.

The team is clearly very proud of that metaverse, promising the ability to create experiences that go ‘beyond immersive’. With upload capabilities exceeding 500MB, including support for 2D, AR, VR, audio, video and 3D, we can see what they’re getting at. Another very attractive proposition is multichain minting. As it sounds, this allows users to mint on Polygon and sell on Ethereum, or vice versa. Alternatively, stick to one for both minting and trade. The choice is yours, but crucially there is a choice, which is always a good thing.

Unlimited Splits and More
‘Limitless collaboration’ is a pretty big promise, and one that Shōyu clearly makes in its pre-launch presentation. Unlimited splits for sales are likely to find favour with some communities. Not to mention creatives who are focused on those audiences. It will be possible to input percentages, roles and other vital information into each sale.

Naturally, given the philanthropic side of NFT culture, the SushiSwap NFT marketplace hasn’t forgotten about charity. Using Endoament, it’s possible to share anything between 1% and 100% of revenue with a chosen charity or non-profit. We’ve seen so much activity involving good causes and non-fungibles this inclusion is common sense, but still worth pointing out.

The final things to note are, firstly, so-called “auction autonomy”, with support for English, Dutch, and Fixed sales and over 1,500 currency tickers. Meanwhile, there’s a real emphasis on discoverability, too — which you would expect from a platform looking to support up and comers.

Shōyu offers suggested searches, utilising countless categories and filters to ensure work can and will be found. Still want more details? Check out the full presentation posted to Twitter by SushiSwap’s Marketing Lead, Amanda Joki.

All in all, at first sight, Shōyu looks like an exciting addition to the many NFT marketplaces out there. This incredibly busy, fast-moving space has recently seen launches from Sotheby’s, Chingari, and more. Feeling lost? Read our guide to NFT art marketplaces on the blockchain.
